The beacon does indeed have a motor and gear box which rotated the light assembly. The motor and gearbox assembly is one complete unit, and the light assembly mounts on top of it.The Dietz 211 was available in 6-12-24 volt models, never in 74 volts. Dietz was bought out by Signal-Stat which in turn was bought out by Federal-Mogul.The 211 used PAR 36 bulbs. They were #4416s. Rpm is about 20 RPM which produced about 80 flashes per minute.
The Dietz 211 was later marketed as the Dietz 7-110, as stated in the entry below:
The Dietz 211 is exactly the same as the Dietz 7-110. Dietz changed model numbers around 1970 for some reason that I do not know of. I have a lot of Dietz equipment myself including the model 7-110. I have checked with my catalogs (I have all since 1966) and the catalog numbers are as follows: 7-110 (211), 7-114 (211SS) and 7-116 (211WW). The 7-110 had chrome plated brass base, the 7-114 had a stainless steel base and the 7-116 was the one with the tilted sealed beams (2 straight and 2 tilted, one upwards and one downwards).
